Whether you are an expert or beginner, you are welcome here! We look forward to seeing you in the studio or outdoors. All class attendees must be pre-registered.

Outdoor Aerial Classes
Experience pure relaxation outdoors listening to the sounds of nature on our serene 10-acre property in Powhatan County. The relaxing atmosphere provides the perfect setting for a variety of aerial classes. As long as the weather permits, we offer Aerial Hammock for Beginners, Aerial Gentle Stretch, and Aerial Dance. Pre-registration is required.
Introduction to Aerial Hammock (Start here!)
Everyone starts somewhere! If you’re new to FGF, this is the class for you! You’ll get to sample the various class styles and experience the benefits of aerial fitness while learning foundational poses and terminology. This class will teach you all the basics of moving in and out of the hammock so you can safely and confidently move on to the wide variety of other classes at FGF. You will swing, hang upside down, and even try a flip!
Poses you’ll learn: Womb, Monkey, Chandelier, Vampire, Cocoon

Aerial Beginner Classes
Aerial Yoga (All Levels)
Deepen the mind, body, and spirit connection in our Aerial Yoga class where you’ll focus on the breath as you move through sequences inspired by mat yoga. Utilizing the hammock makes challenging yoga poses more accessible, allowing you to go deeper and hold for longer. As long as you’ve taken the Introduction to Aerial Hammock, this class is suitable for All Levels of experience.

Aerial Yoga Classes
Aerial Gentle Stretch (All Levels)
Join us for this slow-paced class designed to help you relax and improve flexibility through full body stretching and gentle movement. You’ll use the hammock to decompress your spine, open your hips, and release tension in your shoulders. Using the hammock allows you to stretch deeper and apply gentle pressure to the joints through postures that target deep connective tissue. Breath work is emphasized to encourage concentration and ease stress. Expect to leave this class feeling completely refreshed!

Aerial Suspension Conditioning (All Levels)
This dynamic conditioning class uses the hammock to deliver a unique, full-body workout for All Levels of experience. You’ll develop strength, mobility, and stamina as you challenge your body and mind. Come ready to sweat and leave feeling energized and empowered to take on the rest of your day! This is a great class for everyone looking to build strength and progress further in their aerial practice.

Aerial Suspension Conditioning Classes
Aerial Flips & Tricks Beginner (Level 1)
After you’ve taken Introduction to Aerial Hammock class, continue to build upon the basics and master foundational aerial moves as you develop the strength, stamina and flexibility required for Intermediate (Level 2) classes. When you’re just starting out, we recommend taking this class for one month before moving on to Intermediate (Level 2) classes.
Poses you’ll learn: Apollo Flip, Cannon Ball Swings, Birdie, Lighting Bolt, Wheelbarrow, Inverted Bat, Wrapped Star
TIP: If you’d like to progress even quicker, we recommend pairing this class along with any of the conditioning classes (Hammock Conditioning, Hoop/Lyra Conditioning, Aerial Pilates, Aerial Barre, Volée Method).

Aerial Beginner Classes
Aerial Flips & Tricks Intermediate (Level 2)
Once you’ve mastered the foundational aerial moves (Monkey, Iris, Wizard, Crossback Straddle, and Straddle Back) in the beginner series, you are ready for Level 2 where we focus on more complex aerial moves including a variety of stretches, challenging balances, climbs, flips, and pretty poses that continue to build strength and develop skill. Get ready to amaze yourself with the strength you gain in just a few classes!
TIP: If you’d like to progress even quicker, we recommend pairing this class along with any of the conditioning classes (Hammock Conditioning, Hoop/Lyra Conditioning, Aerial Pilates, Aerial Barre, Volée Method).

Aerial Flips & Tricks Classes
Aerial Flips & Tricks Advanced (Level 3)
Feeling comfortable with your Level 2 aerial skills? Elevate your practice even further and build upon the complex moves learned in Level 2 with longer, multi-step sequences that require a sufficient amount of aerial-specific skill and strength. Heads up: many of these longer sequences in Level 3 require you to hold up your body weight for 3+ seconds. We see you over there ready for the challenge – you got this!

Aerial Flips & Tricks Classes
Aerial Dance Intermediate/Advanced (Level 2/3)
This class takes all the elements you learned in Intermediate/Advanced Aerial Hammock Flips & Tricks (Level 2/3) and creates a fun, flowing choreographed routine to music. No dance experience required! Each class, we break down the choreography into sections so you learn piece by piece and review more complex moves individually. Towards the end of class we run through the entire routine to the music. Feeling graceful and sexy is just an added benefit of this incredible workout! Most dance routines run for 4-6 weeks so the more you come, the more you get to practice and the more confident you’ll feel.

Aerial Dance Classes
Aerial Pilates (All Levels)
Enhance your aerial practice with this Pilates-inspired conditioning class. You’ll use the hammock to perform classic Pilates exercises from the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, and Ladder Barrel. This unique suspension training technique takes core-strengthening and targeted muscle conditioning to new heights! Tap into the amazing benefits of the Pilates Method using the hammock and no-compression inversions. No prior Pilates experience is necessary.

Aerial Pilates Classes
Aerial Restorative Yoga (All Levels)
Tap into the relaxing and restorative side of Aerial Yoga. This powerful use of the hammock focuses on the mind-body connection as you flow through a series of gentle gyro-kinetic motions to open the entire spine, hips and connective tissues of the body. This healing technique uses a low hammock to incorporate levitating mediations, supported inversions, joint opening and spinal traction. This popular class will help you develop more mobility as well as a deeper internal communication with your nervous system.

Aerial Restorative Yoga with Guided Relaxation Classes
Aerial Barre (All Levels)
Improve your overall cardio, strength, and posture in this Ballet-inspired aerial conditioning class. Because the hammock is not as stable as a bar used in a typical Barre class, your core and arms have to work harder to keep you stable! Improve your balance and build lean muscle and core power with this fun, high-energy class, ideal for all fitness levels.

Aerial Barre Classes
Individualized Aerial Skills (Level 2)
If you’ve found a specific aerial pose or sequence particularly challenging, Individualized Aerial Skill may be just what you need! Think of this class as an all-requests class – after a short warmup, each participant will get to choose a pose or sequence that you’d like to work on. It can be something you find challenging and can’t figure out why or a favorite that you haven’t gotten a chance to practice in a while. Our skilled instructors will lead the class through the moves one-by-one, giving each student specific pointers to help you master the move and refine your skill. This popular class is open to anyone who is comfortable with Intermediate Level 2 classes.

Individual Aerial Skills Classes
Aerial Kids (Pop-up)
Bring your kids to FGF where they’ll discover the aerial arts and learn to conquer their fears while building self-confidence. Each class builds on the previous class instruction to promote gentle stretching while incorporating lightness and play. Many parents notice improvement in their child’s focus, flexibility, and strength. You can also book a Private Aerial Kids class for an exciting and energetic alternative to the traditional birthday party (see “Private Parties” for more details).

Introduction to Aerial Hoop/Lyra (Start here!)
In Introduction to Aerial Hoop/Lyra, you’ll learn all the basics of moving in and out of the hoop, safely and confidently. You will learn proper hand placement, a variety of mounts, and how to hang in Hocks Hang pose as well as a few basic poses to get you comfortable with the feel of the hoop.
Poses you’ll learn: Hocks Hang, Straddle entrance, Deliliah entrance and pose, Peter pan, Inside Mermaid, & Outside Mermaid.
Aerial Hoop/Lyra for Beginners (Level 1)
After you’ve taken Introduction to Aerial Hoop/Lyra class, build upon the basics and master foundational lyra moves that help you develop the strength, stamina and flexibility required for Intermediate (Level 2) classes. When you’re just starting out, we recommend taking this class for one month before moving on to Intermediate (Level 2) classes.
Poses you’ll learn: Straddle Entrance, Pull Over Entrance, Inside/Outside/Low Mermaid, Star on the Bar, Hocks Hang, Front Balance (hands free!)

Aerial Hoop/Lyra Intermediate (Level 2)

Lyra / Aerial Hoop Classes
The Volée Method™ (All Levels)
The Volée Method fuses together suspension fitness, Pilates, Yoga and Barre to create a blend of isometric exercises and flexibility challenges. You’ll use suspension and tension in the Volée straps to push, pull and stabilize your body as you move through a head-to-toe workout featuring core-bracing squats, lunges, leg lifts, plank variations, Pliés and Développés.

The Volée Method™ Classes
Bungee Beat (All Levels)
Bungee Beat is a no-impact, heart-pumping, fun-flying total body workout! You’ll wear a bungee harness that adds support and/or resistance to exercises like lunges, squats and jumps. This high-intensity cardio workout is suitable for all fitness levels, just make sure you bring your shoes and come ready to sweat!
Because the class requires all participants to wear a harness and bungee cord (including the instructor), late arrivals are not allowed. Please prepare to arrive 15 minutes early for class start time.

Aerial Tweens & Teens
Teens and tweens (ages 11-16) learn to soar in this fun, dynamic class where we teach acrobatic flips, tricks, and skills in the aerial hammock. This class is the perfect outlet for middle- and high-school students to explore natural creativity while instilling confidence and developing strength and flexibility. This class provides a safe, non-competitive environment for your child to build confidence and form friendships.
