Classes must be cancelled at least 2 hours prior to the class or by 10 pm the night before our first morning classes in order to avoid a cancellation fee which is the cost of a drop-in or if paid a drop-in, the loss of a drop-in class credit. We know things come up but want to make sure we give those on the wait list a chance to participate so we ask for your help adhering to this policy. LATE ARRIVAL POLICY
It is important that you arrive at least 5 minutes before the class starts in order to be measured in your hammock if taking an AntiGravity class or 15 minutes before taking a Bungee fitness class to get assistance putting on your harness. If you are not there at the time for class to begin, you may lose your spot to someone else who has dropped in to sign up for a class. However, if you arrive late to an AntiGravity class, we ask that you come in quietly so not to disturb others, and wait until the instructor tells you to join in the class. If it is your first time to ANY class, we ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes early to allow time to park, meet the instructor and fill out our waiver and new client form.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR FIRST ANTIGRAVITY®, LYRA OR BUNGEE CLASS AT FIGHTING GRAVITY FITNESS
The AntiGravity®, Volee and Bungee Fitness classes have limited availability and sells out frequently. Pre-Registration is required to reserve your spot!
Please Note: If no one is registered for a class, the class will be cancelled 30 minutes before class is to begin. If you plan to come, please make sure to register before that 30 minute cut off time.
Arrive Early: If a new client, arrive 10 minutes to fill out your paperwork, meet your teacher and get measured for your hammock or get set up for your Bungee Harness. If you arrive late, you may forfeit your hammock to a walk-in client, and lose your drop-in payment.
Dress Comfortably: Choose active-wear designed for movement and comfort. For AntiGravity® classes in particular, wear a shirt with sleeves to prevent any discomfort under the arms and help keep the hammocks clean. For Lyra, it is recommended to wear long legging that covers the backs of the knees and shirts with long sleeves. No tank tops in AntiGravity classes, please!
No Jewelry: Help us to preserve our Harrison AntiGravity® Hammocks. Please remove all jewelry, watches, hair clips or anything that will snag the cloth hammocks. No clothing with zippers are allowed.
Contraindications: Avoid Inversions: Pregnancy, glaucoma, recent surgery (esp. shoulder, eyes, back, hips, hands or wrist), heart disease, very high or low blood pressure, easy onset vertigo, or motion sickness, osteoporosis / bone weakness, recent head injury, cerebral sclerosis, propensity for fainting, carpal tunnel syndrome, severe arthritis, sinusitis or head cold, hiatal hernia, disc herniation or acute disco genic disease, recent stroke, artificial hips, Radiculitis (inflammation of nerve root in spine), severe muscle spasms, Botox injections (within 6 hours)
All students are required to take at least one, but recommended three AntiGravity fundamentals (beginner) classes before moving on to the other AntiGravity classes (i.e. AntiGravity Yoga, AntiGravity Pilates, AntiGravity Suspension Fitness, etc.)
For your safety, the minimum age to attend adult classes is thirteen and must be accompanied by a parent. Minors sixteen and over may attend without a parent; however parental consent must be given with our waiver prior to attending class.
Come with a sense of playfulness! Be prepared to have the most fun in a fitness class! Bring your cellphones to take pictures!
